Afrinvest West Africa has launched a fan engagement initiative offering matchday incentives as Enugu Rangers close in on the Nigeria Premier Football League title in their final-day clash against Ikorodu City, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The encounter is scheduled for 4pm on Sunday, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, where Rangers could secure a ninth league crown.
As part of efforts to mobilise support for the Enugu side, Afrinvest West Africa, the club’s official jersey sponsor, announced the distribution of 300 tickets, 200 jerseys and additional gift items for the first 100 Rangers supporters to arrive at the stadium on matchday.
Fans are required to register through an online link provided by the company before attending.
The group managing director of Afrinvest West Africa, Ike Chioke, said the initiative was designed to boost attendance and reward loyal supporters ahead of a decisive fixture.
“The gifts include 300 tickets, 200 jerseys, and special gift items for the first 100 Rangers FC fans to arrive at the 10,000-capacity multi-purpose Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium), Lagos Island, on match day,” Chioke said.
“All one needs to do is sign up on the link provided by Afrinvest and arrive the match venue at least one hour before kickoff.”
Chioke also urged supporters in Lagos and those able to travel to the city to rally behind the team, referencing the club’s historic contribution to Nigerian football through legends such as Emmanuel Okala, Christian Chukwu, Adokiye Amiesimaka, Aloysius Atuegbu, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, John Utaka and Onyekachi Apam.
The initiative forms part of a three-year partnership signed in October 2023 between Afrinvest West Africa and Rangers, aimed at strengthening the club’s administrative structure, medical support systems and player welfare.
The partnership has coincided with a resurgence in form, including a league title win in the 2023/24 season, their first in eight years.
Rangers currently top the NPFL table on 65 points and have already secured qualification for the CAF Champions League for a second time under the Afrinvest partnership.
A victory in Lagos would confirm the Enugu club as champions regardless of other results.
