Moses Olarewaju has emerged as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the House of Representatives seat in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency following a decisive victory in the party’s primary election held in Lagos State on Saturday.
Olarewaju secured a total of 13,130 votes to defeat other contenders in the closely contested exercise.
According to the official result announced at the end of the election, Hon. Ramota Akinlola-Hassan came second with 3,184 votes, while Hon. Ayodele Adewale polled 79 votes. Another aspirant, Hon. Ade Adegboyega, scored six votes.
Following the announcement, supporters and party members across the constituency celebrated the outcome, describing it as a strong endorsement of Olarewaju’s popularity and grassroots connection.
In his acceptance remarks, Olarewaju expressed gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, delegates, youth and women groups, ward executives, and supporters for what he described as their overwhelming backing throughout the primary process.
He said the victory was not personal but a reflection of the collective will of the people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.
“Today, the voices of our people were heard loud and clear. This victory is for the people, for grassroots politics, and for the future of Amuwo Odofin,” he said.
The APC flagbearer added that the outcome demonstrated the constituency’s demand for quality representation, unity, and continued development.
He further pledged to justify the confidence placed in him by party members and supporters.
“This is more than a victory; it is a movement powered by the people, sustained by unity, and driven by the desire for purposeful leadership,” he added.
The primary election recorded a large turnout of delegates and party faithful drawn from across the wards in the constituency.
