The Lagos State Deputy Governor has confirmed his appearance before the All Progressives Congress Governorship Screening Committee in Abuja ahead of the party’s upcoming primaries.
In a post shared on X on Saturday, he stated: “Today in Abuja, I appeared before the APC Governorship Screening Committee ahead of our party primaries.
“I am grateful for the clean bill of approval and clearance to move forward.”
The screening that took place in Abuja is part of internal party procedures ahead of the governorship selection process.
The Deputy Governor further described the development as part of a broader political and governance journey focused on Lagos State.
“This journey is about service and a commitment to all Lagosians.
“We have built a solid foundation and now we are ready to take the next step toward a greater and more inclusive Lagos,” the post further read.
He concluded his statement with a reaffirmation of continued engagement and political readiness.
Hamzat noted, “The work continues and I am ready to keep moving forward with you.”
Earlier on Thursday, PUNCH Online reported that Hamzat formally submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
He wrote, “Today, I submitted my expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 gubernatorial election. This journey is about service, responsibility, and building a Lagos that works better for every family, every business and every person that calls this state home.”
