The Ijesa South Federal Constituency Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress has said Osun people are already expecting renewed hope and will vote for the candidate of the party in the next governorship poll in the state, Bola Oyebamiji.
Addressing journalists in Ilesa, Osun State, to herald the commencement of the governorship campaign in the Federal Constituency on Wednesday, the Campaign Council Chairman, Femi Kujembola, also stated that the APC candidate will deliver good governance and meet people’s expectations.
Kujembola, who described the 2022 APC loss of power in the state as unfortunate, said the party has full assurance of the electorate, the determination, renewed strength and hope to return to power in the next governorship poll.
“As you can see from the above ‘Theme’, we are beginning this the vision and resilience of our journey with a profound belief in
candidate, Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO, to deliver qualitative administration and good governance for the good people of Osun State, and a better future for our children.
“It is now very obvious to the good people of Osun State that the unfortunate outcome of the 2022 governorship election did not bring any meaningful and favourable dividends to the state as expected,” Kujembola said.
He further said the democratic process in the State has suffered tremendous setbacks through abuse of the judiciary and undermining of justice with frivolous litigations, noting that
Osun has not witnessed progress commensurate with the resources available to it.
He added, “We are eager to come back to power to offer positive change and desired renewed hopes. We have had our mistakes, we have learned our lessons, we are determined to meet the needs of our people when we
return to power through pragmatic and egalitarian development projects.
“We know we can do better, because in the past three years, we have offered not just opposition but alternative government through local administration. Despite all attempts to scuttle the local government
system through frivolous litigations, our Council Chairmen have provided necessary reliefs, and robust succors in each local government.”
Extolling the attributes of the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, the leader of the campaign team, described him as a “man of great vision, and a man of impeccable character. His mission for good governance is shaped by his experiences, beliefs, and values.”
The electorate in the state will be going to the polls on Saturday, August 15, to elect a governor in an election that will see the incumbent, Ademola Adeleke, seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party.
