The Ogun State Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement, Abayomi Sanyaolu, has called on aspirants for both the state and National Assembly in the 2027 elections to approach the party for automatic tickets.
Sanyaolu also called on residents of the state to join hands with the party in its determination to rescue the state from what he described as “political invaders that are pretentiously parading themselves as friends of the masses.”
Addressing journalists on Monday at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, the party chairman said it was saddening that a state blessed with great political leaders like the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the late Chief MKO Abiola, the late Ernest Shonekan, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka is “sinking deeply into the hands of political invaders.”
Sanyaolu, who also doubles as the state chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, stated that “it is on this note that the leadership of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Ogun State is calling every true son and daughter of the state to please come on board to join hands together with the party to rescue our dear state from political destruction and avoidable jeopardy.
“In the next few days of the window of political alignment and realignments, we are ready to welcome everyone with good intention to APM — the party ordained by God to rescue Ogun State.
“APM as a political platform belongs to all; therefore, our doors are open to everyone to come in and participate in the process.
“Consequently, the APM Ogun State chapter is using this opportunity to woo serving and former members of the National Assembly with automatic tickets, where applicable, for the 2027 general elections. Former and present House of Assembly members are also qualified to benefit from this great offer.
“It is our belief that this announcement will change the dynamics of the 2027 general elections in favour of the APM in the state.”
The party also used the medium to thank its National Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, and members of the National Working Committee for making the APM attractive to Nigerians.
Sanyaolu welcomed the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, and all Peoples Democratic Party members to the APM, describing the party as a political platform that is legally free from distractions and therefore has all it takes to deliver a landslide victory for all its aspirants in the 2027 elections.
