Police in Yobe State have arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged armed robbery attack on a commercial motorcyclist in Tarmuwa Local Government Area.
The development was contained in a post shared on Monday on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the incident was reported at about 3:30 pm on Sunday at the Tarmuwa Police Division by a resident identified as Haruna Ardo Machido of Lantewa village.
The victim said the attack occurred on April 28 at about 6:45 pm after he conveyed a passenger identified as Umaru Ibrahim, 20, from Lantewa village to Dangel hamlet.
He alleged that upon reaching a bush area, the passenger conspired with three others who attacked him with cutlasses and sticks, leaving him injured.
“The suspects were also said to have robbed him of N250,000 and a Tecno keypad phone before fleeing the scene,” Makama said.
Police sources said operatives acted on the complaint and arrested Umaru Ibrahim, while efforts are ongoing to track down the other suspects.
The case is currently under investigation, and police say further updates will be provided as the probe continues.
