Erling Haaland’s first goal at Anfield proved to be the winner, as Manchester City came from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.
City came into the game nine points behind leaders Arsenal, who thrashed Sunderland 3-0 yesterday.
The odds were also against them, as Pep Guardiola’s men have not won at Liverpool since 2021.
It appeared City were set for another setback in the title race, after Dominik Szobozslai’s stunning free-kick put the Reds in front in the second half.
But Bernardo Silva pulled one back, before Haaland’s cool penalty won the game for City.
They are now six points behind Arsenal with 13 fixtures left to play.
