The Governor of Imo State and Director-General of Renewed Hope Nigeria, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, has reaffirmed the resolve of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Uzodimma, who spoke in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, on Friday during the inauguration of the state Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), said the President would record massive victory across the South-East in the forthcoming election.
The governor, who was represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, revealed that members of the support group would be tasked with the responsibility of mobilising grassroots support across the local government areas in the state.
He stated that Renewed Hope is an initiative backed by Tinubu’s firm resolve to restore hope to Nigerians.
The governor advised the ambassadors to bridge the gap between the people and the government through proper communication.
Renewed Hope Nigeria goes beyond a political structure; it is an initiative of the President to reach out to the needs of Nigerians.
“As ambassadors you must listen to the needs and aspirations of your community and transmit them to the government for proper attention.
Also remember that as Renewed Hope Ambassadors you will be tasked with the responsibility of grassroot mobilization across the whole Local Government in the state in order to boost the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
“You are the human face of renewed hope initiative in your communities ,You are not just mere political appointees but genuine individuals ready to make a difference.
We encourage you all to be great mobilizers,creative minded, innovative and responsive in order to achieve the great mandate of re-electing President Tinubu in the 2027 General election”.
Earlier in his address, the APC Chairman in the state, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbo, thanked President Tinubu for prioritising the development of the South-East through the establishment of the South-East Development Commission, the approval of Abia airport and modular refinery, and several other notable projects across the region.
He described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors inauguration as the beginning of a new dawn in Abia and the reaffirmation of the collective belief in the visionary leadership and responsible governance of President Tinubu.
Ononogbo tasked the new ambassadors to bridge the gap between the party and the people through advocacy, civic engagement, political education, and constructive dialogue.
“The message of the Renewed Hope agenda focuses on evangelizing achievements and milestones of the President. It is not an evangelism of lies but of truth, facts and figures,” he said.
He also lauded President Tinubu for his sterling performance since assuming office in 2023 through major infrastructural, social, and economic reforms that have put the country on the right track.
The State Coordinator, Renewed Hope Agenda, Chief Henry Ikoh, said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors are now working in conjunction with the Abia APC with the sole mandate of re-electing the President in 2027.
“Go to the grassroot and preach the gospel of President Tinubu’s performance ,APC flag will continue to fly in Aso rock ,the 184 wards and 17 local government Areas in the state,” he stated.
He also commended Tinubu for increasing allocations to states and local governments, which he said had translated into development.
Chieftains of the APC in the state, including Paul Ikonne and Sen. Nkechi Nwogu, the former senator representing Abia Central, in their separate remarks, said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were foot soldiers of President Tinubu in the local governments of the state with the mandate of mobilising grassroots support for the President’s re-election.
“We’ll massively vote for President tinubu in 2027 because of his great achievements.
“Abia will no longer be left behind in the scheme of things and therefore all hands must be on deck to re-elect the president in 2027,” they stated.
Highlights of the event included the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors by Chief Henry Ikoh, the State Coordinator, and the commissioning of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors office in the state.
