Galatasaray remain interested in Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika despite the Turkish club’s complex transfer dealings during the January window, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 24-year-old has been mentioned in discussions surrounding Galatasaray’s midfield planning as the club navigates multiple targets and expectations.
Galatasaray insider Uğur Karakullukçu raised concerns about the club’s transfer approach, using Onyedika’s situation as a reference point while analysing recent developments.
“We’re keeping Onyedika waiting, we’re going to get the star of the Africa Cup, we’ll pay 40, Oulai 35,’ and then you go through a transfer period like that and sign an 18-year-old in February, it’s unfair to the 18-year-old, it’s unfair to the fans,” he said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
Onyedika has been positioned within Galatasaray’s broader midfield considerations rather than as an isolated target.
Onyedika has featured in 15 Jupiler Pro League matches this season, scoring once, and remains a key figure in Brugge’s midfield.
His current contract runs until June 2027, strengthening the Belgian club’s negotiating position despite the player’s openness to a new challenge.
