A judge has allowed late General Hospital star Johnny Wactor’s mom to gain access to his laptop and iPhone, nearly two years after his murder, Us Weekly can exclusively report.
During a January 21 hearing held in Los Angeles Superior Court, Scarlett Wactor’s petition was granted after the court instructed Apple to provide Scarlett with Johnny’s log-in information for his devices. Apple was also ordered to assist Scarlett in obtaining Johnny’s personal data.
As Us first reported, Scarlett had been struggling to get a judge to sign off on the request for several months.
In June 2025, Scarlett filed court docs pleading for help accessing Johnny’s desktop, laptop and iPhone. She claimed the devices were locked and that she needed to see the contents as the administrator of the late actor’s estate.
The filing claimed Scarlett needed to “determine if her late son’s computer and phone contain any financial information or financial assets” to be included in her final distribution report.
In the petition, Scarlett explained she spoke to Apple regarding her difficulties, but that the company told her she needed a court order in order to obtain access to Johnny’s phone and computers.
“I need to get into it,” Scarlett told Us at the time. “I need to access [them.”

Scarlett told Us that trying to deal with Apple had been a “frustrating” situation. She said the devices had “photos and videos” that she wanted to review as well.
“I don’t want to erase [them],” Scarlett said.
As Us previously reported, Johnny was killed on May 25, 2024, at the age of 37.

Johnny was leaving his second job at a restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles. The actor and a coworker were walking to his car when they discovered thieves attempting to steal the vehicle’s catalytic converter.
TMZ reported that a security guard tried to save Johnny by performing CPR. The actor was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

In August 2024, three members of the Florencia 13 gang were arrested for their alleged roles in Johnny’s murder. A fourth person was arrested on accessory charges.
Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada were charged with murder. Leonel Gutierrez was charged with attempted robbery and grand theft while in the possession of a firearm. The fourth man, Frank Olano, was charged with accessory along with charges for receiving stolen property and being in possession of a firearm while being a felon.
Gutierrez pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in state prison, per reports.
Olano pleaded no contest and his charges were reduced. He was sentenced to five years and eight months.
The remaining suspects pleaded not guilty and their cases are pending.
