Suspected bandits have attacked Maraban Rido community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted two daughters of a widow.
The two girls abducted are identified as Deborah Edward, a corps member who completed her National Youth Service Corps programme in December 2025, and her younger sister, Rachael Edward.
The bandits stormed the residence late Monday night and forcefully took the two sisters away.
This is coming barely two weeks afterthe mass abduction of worshippers in Kurmin Wali community from ECWA and Cherubim and Seraphim churches.
The distraught mother of the victims, Mrs. Alice Edward, while speaking to newsmen on Tuesday explained that initially, the bandits abducted her two daughters alongside a visitor identified as Priscilla, who had come to sleep over in the house.
Mrs. Edward said, “The attackers later released her (Priscilla) after her daughters pleaded with the bandits to spare her life, explaining that she was their only surviving parent.”
According to her, the bandits released the visitor but held on to the two sisters, taking them away into the night to an unknown destination.
While narrating her ordeal, Priscilla who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, explained that she was beaten severely by the bandits before she was released.
She added that the attackers continued to assault her with their guns until she lost consciousness and fainted, causing them to assume she was dead.
The Kaduna State Command spokesman, Mansir Hassan could not respond to calls to confirm the incident.
