Former Manchester United striker, Andy Cole, has snubbed the iconic duo of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as he named football’s greatest player.
According to him, the best player of all time is Argentine legend Diego Maradona.
Cole almost lined up alongside Ronaldo at Old Trafford, but departed in 1995, two years before the Red Devils signed the Portugal superstar.
However, he hasn’t chosen Ronaldo or his eternal rival Messi, as the best footballer in history.
When asked by ESPN, Cole response was: “Diego Maradona.”
Maradona was 60 years when he passed away on November 25, 2020 from acute heart failure, while recovering from brain surgery in his home in Argentina.
