The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Wale Oke, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned gospel musician and worship leader, Ron Kenoly.
In an emotional tribute, Bishop Oke hailed the late singer as a “true worshipper,” noting that his entire life and calling were poured out in honour of God.
“Farewell to a true worshipper, Ron Kenoly,” the PFN leader wrote. “A man of humility, a vessel of grace, and a true worshipper who gave his life to the glory of God.”
According to Bishop Oke, Kenoly operated with profound spiritual depth and was richly anointed by the Holy Spirit.
He said the gospel minister’s music and teaching consistently ushered individuals and nations into powerful moments of worship.
Reflecting on personal encounters, Bishop Oke recalled hosting Kenoly multiple times across Nigeria and in other parts of the world, describing each occasion as a rare honour to observe his zeal and unwavering dedication to the Body of Christ.
“He carried the presence of God wherever he ministered,” Bishop Oke remarked, emphasizing that Kenoly’s influence has left an enduring mark across generations.
Though grieving the loss, the PFN president said believers are comforted by the truth that a life wholly committed to God’s service is never wasted.
He also conveyed heartfelt sympathies to Kenoly’s wife, children, and grandchildren, offering prayers that the Holy Spirit would grant them strength and peace during this season of mourning.
Bishop Oke rounded off his message with a passage from Revelation 14:13, affirming that the late worship leader is blessed to have entered rest after his labours, with his works continuing to testify after him.
Ron Kenoly, who passed away at the age of 81, is celebrated as one of the most impactful figures in modern gospel worship, leaving behind timeless songs that influenced global worship expressions for many decades.
