Residents of the Doma community in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State came under attack on Tuesday when armed bandits invaded the area, firing gunshots and setting houses and vehicles ablaze.
The incident was reported by Bakatsine on X, who said the assault was continuing despite an existing peace deal and surrender agreement earlier reached between bandits and stakeholders in the local government area.
According to the post, the assailants stormed the community and opened fire on residents, forcing people to flee for safety as property was destroyed.
Bakatsine warned that the situation could deteriorate if urgent measures are not taken, calling on authorities to act without delay.
“Urgent deployment of security forces is needed to Doma and surrounding communities in Faskari LGA to protect civilians, stop the ongoing violence, and prevent further loss of lives and property. Immediate action could save lives,” he posted.
At the time of filing this report, there had been no official response from security agencies or the Katsina State Government on the attack.
