Police have arrested two men over the killing of a Fulani herder in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The development was reported in a post shared on X on Tuesday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the victim, Musa Tukur, 20, was attacked on February 2, 2026, around 11:00 a.m. in Garin Kula.
The incident reportedly happened after his cattle strayed into an irrigation farm belonging to Abba Gwomu of Gwomu Village, destroying seedlings.
An argument broke out between the herder and the two men, identified as Ibrahim Abubakar, 28, from Guyuk LGA in Adamawa State, and Gideon Joshua, 25, from Gwomu Village.
“During the confrontation, the suspects allegedly hit the herder with a machete, causing severe head injuries.
“The victim was rushed to Jen Primary Health Care Hospital but died while receiving treatment. Security operatives recovered a machete, a spear, and a stick at the scene,” Makama wrote.
The suspects are currently in police custody, and the case is being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and allow security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation.
