A Kano-based businessman, Alhaji Rabiu Salisu, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Rukubi Village, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the kidnapping on Friday.
The command said the incident was reported at about 4:30 pm by Murtala Abubakar of Olam Company in Rukubi Village.
Police stated that Salisu was travelling out of Rukubi Village when the assailants seized him.
“The Divisional Police Officer of Ekye Division, on receipt of the report, mobilised a team of policemen in collaboration with local vigilantes to the scene,” the police command said.
The command added that officers had combed the surrounding bushes, and that rescue operations were continuing in an effort to locate Salisu and apprehend the kidnappers.
Police urged members of the public to provide any information that could aid the operation.
