The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected claims by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that civil servants were compelled to register for the party’s ongoing electronic membership exercise.
In a statement, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the allegation as “entirely false and baseless.”
He said the claims formed part of what he termed a deliberate disinformation campaign by the ADC.
He further noted that the ADC had previously circulated a fabricated APC membership slip falsely linking a known terrorist to the party.
Morka said the mass registration demonstrated Nigerians’ enthusiasm for APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Millions of Nigerians have registered and continue to register, voluntarily and enthusiastically,” he said.
He explained that the registration period had been extended from January 31 to February 8, 2026, in response to popular demand.
He added, “Clearly, the ADC is intimidated by the phenomenal success of our party’s e-registration exercise, for obvious reasons. However, that cannot justify concocting and spewing lies in an attempt to smear the exercise.”
Morka said that while the ADC “continues to fumble and peddle falsehood,” the APC remained focused on “its onward march as Africa’s standard-bearer of digital and democratic innovation.”
