An APC Chieftain, AbdulMajeed Dan Bilki Kwamanda, has said there is a clear political path Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso can follow to respond to what he described as betrayal by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Kwamanda said that although Kwankwaso is in the NNPP, he still has enough political strength to shake the APC if he decides to field a candidate in the 2027 election.
He made this known in an interview with DCL Hausa, where he said Kwankwaso could even attract strong support from within the APC if he presents a credible candidate.
According to him, Kano politics has reached a stage where anyone with a solid plan can win elections.
“If Kwankwaso presents a good candidate, I can assure you that even people within the APC will abandon the party,” he said.
Dan Bilki mentioned Ahmad Garban Bichi as someone Kwankwaso could field for the governorship, saying his background and influence would guarantee victory.
“Ahmad Garban Bichi comes from a respected family. If Kwankwaso fields him, I assure you Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will win the election,” he said.
He added that Kwankwaso could choose Ibrahim Khalil, a former ADC governorship candidate, as a running mate.
“If he wants a deputy, he can pick Ibrahim Khalil. He is popular, educated, related to many people, and has supporters among both men and women,” he added.
Dan Bilki said that if Kwankwaso follows this strategy, Abba Kabir Yusuf would lose the 2027 election.
Speaking on the wider political situation, Dan Bilki said Nigerian politics is now driven by personal interest rather than public service.
He claimed Abba joined the APC out of personal need, not because of love for Kano or its people, adding that this has left Kwankwaso deeply unhappy.
“In all my life, I have never seen Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso this angry,” he said.
