Former Premier League player, Darren Bent, is concerned about Arsenal’s young talent Myles Lewis-Skelly ahead of the Carabao Cup match against Chelsea.
He thinks the defender has not played as well as he did last season.
Bent talked to talkSPORT, through Metro, before the semifinal game at Stamford Bridge.
He said that Lewis-Skelly has struggled to get back into the starting team because of Riccardo Calafiori.
He thinks the young player will play against Chelsea, but he also said the player did not perform at his best in the Portsmouth game during the FA Cup.
He said, “He’s had a tougher time this season. What he did last season, everyone said, ‘Wow!’
“What he’s had to deal with in terms of coming back, Calafiori has been really good this season, which is why he hasn’t played a lot of minutes.
“I think he might play in this game against Chelsea, maybe, but when it comes to defense, especially against Portsmouth, he has seemed a little weak at times.”
Arsenal are traveling to London to take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, January 14.
