A 19-year-old teenager has been remanded in Adamawa State for allegedly attempting to kill a 9-year-old boy for ritual purpose.
The teenager, Istifanus Bitrus, is currently before the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yola, for allegedly attempting to kill the 9-year-old boy for money ritual.
The court was told that Istifanus took his victim identified as Friday Musa, to a river and pushed him into the water, allegedly with the intention of using him to make a sacrifice.
Istifanus is a resident of Garkida, a prominent community in Gombi LGA.
Arraigned on the charge of attempt to commit culpable homicide, Istafanus was said to have been ordered to do so by his spiritual father.
Upon the defendant’s arraignment, the prosecution asked for time to seek legal advice from the state Ministry of Justice.
Thereafter, Magistrate Kabiru Musa ordered the remand of Istifanus and adjourned the case to next month, February 18.
