The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Sokoto State, Isah Sadiq-Achida, on Tuesday, received a former four-term House of Representatives member, Kabiru Marafa, into the party.
While receiving Marafa alongside hundreds of his supporters, including two former Chairmen of Wurno Local Government Area, Sadiq-Achida declared that the APC would deliver 90 per cent of votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election from Sokoto State.
According to him, the development marks a major milestone in the party’s journey towards the 2027 polls and reflects the remarkable achievements recorded by the administration of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu.
“In the last two years, Sokoto State had been transformed and renewed beyond expectations in all areas of human endeavour.
“Therefore, by the year 2027, I want to assure you that the APC in Sokoto State will deliver nothing less than 90 per cent of the total votes for President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
The APC chairman stressed that Marafa’s return to the party did not come as a surprise, describing him as a committed leader who prioritises the interest of his people.
Sadiq-Achida welcomed all defectors to the party and assured them of equal treatment and opportunities, just like every other APC member.
In his remarks, Marafa, who represented Wurno had Rabah Federal Constituency at the National Assembly from 2003 to 2019, described his defection as a return home.
He urged his supporters to join the APC and register at their respective ward levels, assuring them of his readiness to work collectively for the success of the party and the emergence of credible leadership.
Marafa thanked the party leadership for accepting him back and pledged his loyalty and dedication towards the success of the APC in all future elections in the state.
