The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed a successful rescue operation following an emergency call received at 10:09 a.m. on Tuesday at No. 35A, Fadeyemi Street, Pipeline area of Aboru, within the Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
According to the agency, rescue operatives, supported by personnel from the Abesan Fire Station, were promptly mobilised and arrived at the location at about 10:20 a.m.
The incident involved an 84-year-old man who had fallen into a well estimated to be approximately 140 feet deep.
Preliminary assessments by emergency responders indicated that the well was properly secured, raising suspicions that the incident may have been deliberate.
Firefighters successfully retrieved the elderly man from the well and handed him over to his family for immediate care and further attention.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to swift emergency response and urged residents to promptly alert relevant authorities whenever emergencies arise.
