John Terry, a former captain of Chelsea Football Club, has talked about Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire after the Red devils’ win against Manchester City on Saturday.
The Chelsea legend mentioned that the defender should be included in the England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Red Devils beat their main rivals 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby, a major match in the Premier League.
Harry Maguire began the game and also hit the crossbar with an early shot.
He played well in defense, won three of the five duels, made five clearances, five recoveries, and blocked one shot.
Terry shared a video on his social media to praise Maguire as reported by UtdHeisenberg on X, he said, “Wow, what a performance by Man U.
“This is the Man United of old. Attacking free flowing football, pace up front. Also, the team is better now that Harry Maguire is back in the squad and playing today.
“I don’t think there’s a tougher game in the Manchester derby than playing against the best striker in the world, Haaland.
“He does a great job scoring goals and is also very good at keeping control of the ball. Saw him about 10 minutes ago, he drove out of the ball, and he looked really confident with it.
“Harry Maguire should be on the plane to the World Cup because of the way he’s performing at the moment. You heard it here first,” he added.
Harry Maguire remains the most costly defender in the world. Manchester United paid £80 million to sign him from Leicester City in 2019.
He has played in 257 games with the team and has scored 17 goals, as well as provided nine assists.
