Nigeria’s Super Eagles have received a major morale boost ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final after billionaire businessman Abdul Samad Rabiu announced cash incentives for the team following their victory over Algeria.
In a post shared on Saturday after the win over Algeria Desert Foxes, Mr Rabiu congratulated the players for their performance and praised them for lifting the mood of the country at the tournament.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! 🇳🇬” he wrote.
“You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.”
The Chairman of BUA Group said his pledge was meant to encourage the players as they continue their campaign, announcing a significant financial reward tied to performance in the remaining matches of the competition.
“To encourage you, I pledge USD $500,000 to the players upon winning the semi-final, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored.”
He added that the rewards would increase further should Nigeria go on to lift the trophy.
“Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge USD $1,000,000, plus USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.”

The Super Eagles secured their place in the semi-finals with a composed display against Algeria, reinforcing their status as one of the tournament favourites and renewing belief among fans back home.
Mr Rabiu, one of Africa’s richest businessmen, concluded his message by urging the team to stay focused and continue to represent the country with pride.
“Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward.”

The Super Eagles will now turn their attention to the semi-final, knowing that both national pride and substantial rewards are on the line as they chase another continental title.
