The Adamawa State Police Command has charged two suspects to court after a lingering communal conflict claimed lives and property in Lamurde Local Government Area last month.
The command said in a statement on Friday morning that it charged the two suspects arrested in connection with the conflict in the Lamurde that led to the killing of three women in their farm around Tigno village.
The statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje said the two suspects were charged to the Chief Magistrate Court I, sitting in Yola.
“The suspects, Joshua William and Ezekiel Luka were arraigned under five-count charges,” Nguroje stated, adding that upon arraignment, the court ordered that the suspects be remanded in correctional facilities pending further legal proceedings.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, while reassuring members of the public of the command’s determination to ensure justice, urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding as investigators are still making effort to locate the remaining culprits,” Nguroje stated.
