Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly on Saturday presented a brand new car to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, presented the car keys to Wike at a ceremony in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
During the presentation, Amaewhule urged Wike to consider the lawmakers as his “other children at the Rivers State House of Assembly quarters”.
He said: “As part of Christmas, as part of the celebration we brought a little token to mark this Christmas for the year 2025, so that by 2026 we will be waiting for you. Your Excellency now that you have started it you won’t stop.
“By 2026 we will be waiting for you and hopefully our wives will save more money to buy a better gift.
“On behalf of members, on behalf of our spouses and children we present to you keys to a Toyota 2025 Camry.
“We know that you have plenty already but just add this one to the ones you already have.”
