The possible outcomes for Nigeria’s case against the Democratic Republic of Congo submitted to FIFA have emerged.
This was shared on X by Ikorodu City Director, Olawale Quadri, on Friday evening.
Quadri wrote: “Possible outcome on DR Congo case vs Nigeria:
1. Should FIFA find the NFF’s evidence not sufficient enough. DR Congo’s World Cup qualification stays intact.
2. After investigation and FIFA finds DR Congo culpable. The following would happened.
– FIFA may order a forfeit or award the match to Nigeria.
– Deduct points in group-stage contexts.
“Note: Sanctions like these are applied when administrative or player-registration rules are breached.
“Not looking good for DR Congo at all.”
Nigeria is contesting the eligibility of more than five players that represented DR Congo during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
