A multiple-vehicle accident involving a petrol tanker and three other vehicles occurred on Tuesday on Otedola Bridge, inward Berger, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing traffic disruption in the area.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority disclosed this in a statement shared on X on Tuesday,
According to LASTMA, emergency responders were swiftly deployed to the scene, with officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Ambulance Service and LASTMA currently on the ground to manage the situation and prevent further escalation.
As of the time of filing this report, rescue operations and traffic control were ongoing, while efforts were being made to clear the affected vehicles and restore the free flow of traffic.
Details on casualties and the cause of the accident were yet to be confirmed.
The statement said, “An accident with multiple vehicles has occurred on Otedola bridge Inward Berger along Lagos Ibadan Express way, It involved a PMS loaded tanker, 2 Corolla vehicles and a commercial vehicle.
“Emergency responders such as #LagosRescue, #lasambus with LASTMA personnel are firmly at the location to do the needful.”
