Pan-Atlantic University and its graduate business school, Lagos Business School, have concluded two weeks of academic celebrations with the graduation of 436 executives, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to ethical leadership and professional excellence.
The executive graduation, held on December 13, 2025, at the Honeywell Auditorium on the LBS campus, followed the university’s 22nd convocation ceremonies, during which Pan-Atlantic University awarded degrees to 266 undergraduate and 236 postgraduate students across its schools.
The graduating executives completed seven flagship Executive Education programmes: the Global CEO Africa Programme, Chief Executive Programme, Advanced Management Programme, Owner-Manager Programme, Senior Manager Programme, Agribusiness Management Programme and the Management Acceleration Programme.
Participants were drawn from diverse sectors, including finance, technology, manufacturing, healthcare and agribusiness, and represented several African countries, reflecting Lagos Business School’s growing continental footprint and influence.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Dean of Lagos Business School, Prof Olayinka David-West, said the institution deliberately embeds ethics and sustainability into its training.
“Africa’s future will be shaped by leaders who combine competence with character, strategy with stewardship, and empathy with a focus on goals,” she said.
“That is why business ethics, sustainability and good governance are embedded in all our programmes. They are not electives, but pillars of our identity as a school,” David-West added.
The keynote speaker, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SecureID Group and alumna of the LBS Chief Executive Programme, Mrs Kofo Akinkugbe, urged the graduates to remain steadfast in their values, especially in challenging business environments.
“Ethical leadership goes beyond pecuniary issues; it means benchmarking and adhering to global standards and best practices even when local laws, regulations and standards do not demand it,” Akinkugbe said.
Earlier, the university’s convocation ceremonies celebrated academic excellence across the School of Media and Communication, School of Science and Technology, School of Management and Social Sciences, and Lagos Business School.
Dumebi Valerie Duru emerged as the overall best graduating student with a perfect 5.0 CGPA.
Addressing the graduating students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Enase Okonedo, charged them to uphold integrity and professionalism as they enter the workforce.
She urged them to “serve as worthy ambassadors of Pan-Atlantic University, demonstrating excellence, ethical conduct and a commitment to positive impact in their various fields.”
Both the convocation and executive graduation ceremonies concluded with the formal induction of graduates into the Pan-Atlantic University Alumni Association and the Lagos Business School Alumni Association.
Welcoming the new executive alumni, the Vice-President of the LBS Alumni Association and Chief Executive Officer of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals, Mr Valentine Okelu, encouraged them to remain actively engaged with the alumni network.
Okelu said the alumni community offers a “globally connected platform for collaboration, shared learning and collective impact,” urging graduates to leverage it for professional growth and societal development.
