Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle is targeting a positive start at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports.
The three-time champions will be up against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Fès on Tuesday.
Nigeria will also face the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and Cranes of Uganda in the group.
Only the top two teams in the group are guaranteed a place in the Round of 16.
Chelle reckoned starting the competition with a win is very important for his team.
“We’re happy to be here. This is a big game because this is the first game and the first game is very important. For sure, we want to win this game,” Chelle told a press conference in Fès.
Tunisia and Uganda will clash in the group’s other game also on Tuesday.
