Political associates of a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday held a special prayer session at his GRA residence in Ilorin, Kwara State, to celebrate his 63rd birthday.
Speaking during the event, an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Labeeb Agbaji, recalled the virtues of Saraki’s late father, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, describing him as a man known for love, generosity and forgiveness.
Agbaji said the former Senate President had continued the legacy of his father through compassion, generosity and an open-minded approach to leadership.
Another cleric and Mukadam of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Danboronu, also praised the Saraki family, urging supporters of the former Senate President to emulate his leadership style.
According to Danboronu, Saraki has consistently remained close to the people, using his influence and resources to promote the growth and welfare of residents across Kwara State.
He prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and protection for the former Senate President as he contributed to the development of the nation.
In his admonition, Sheikh Abdulrazaq Aduagba advised Saraki’s loyalists to demonstrate love and unity, stressing that togetherness remains a core principle of the celebrant’s leadership.
As part of the birthday activities, Saraki, who holds the traditional title of Waziri Ngeri, visited Ile-Arugbo in Ilorin, where he joined elderly women in celebrating the occasion.
The former Senate President thanked his supporters and well-wishers for what he described as their consistent prayers, goodwill and solidarity.
The prayer gathering was attended by top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, including a former Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje; a former Kwara State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Isola Balogun Fulani; a former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and governorship aspirant, Prof. Ali Ahmad; and another PDP governorship aspirant, Bolakale Kawu Agaka, among others.
