The Sokoto State government has commended troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces for foiling an attempted ambush by suspected bandits in Sabon Birni Local Government Area.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmed Aliyu on Security Matters, Col. Ahmed Usman (rtd), said the attackers attempted to ambush traders travelling from Tarah village to the weekly market in Sabon Birni on Sunday before they were swiftly neutralised by security operatives.
