The Assistant State Immunisation Officer, Osun State Primary Health Care Development Board, Moshood Alabi, has described Human Papillomavirus, HPV, as the second deadliest virus affecting women of childbearing age, leading to cervical cancer.
Alabi also explained that the virus is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact during sexual intercourse and often presents no visible symptoms, adding that there is currently no known medical cure for it.
