World champions Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer take 2-man bobsleigh World Cup opener in Yanqing

World champions Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer claimed the season-opening 2-man bobsleigh World Cup in Yanqing.

The German duo finished 0.62 seconds ahead of their compatriots Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schuller, with Michael Vogt and Sandro Michel of Switzerland rounding out the podium.

Lochner and Fleischhauer put in the fastest times across both runs, with their slower second run still 0.04 seconds faster than anyone else’s attempt around the Beijing Olympic track.
