4,000 ships berth at Lagos ports annually, say seafarers

A maritime group, the Mission to Seafarers, Lagos, has disclosed that 4,000 ships call at Lagos ports annually.

 The Vice President of the group, Emmanuel Ilori, said this in a chat with The PUNCH, in Lagos recently.

Ilori said that Nigeria as a major seafaring nation deserved to play a major role in global maritime affairs.

 He added that the welfare of international seafarers should be a major concern.
